“A good place to stay for three nights. Breakfast is fine even if I would expect more warm dishes and drinks (milk, for instance). I can't understand why there are no smaller towels in the bathroom and why no hairdryer is provided. I brought mine as I had seen other reviewers. One more thing to take care of is the staff at the reception. All very young people who didn't know anything about the area and the town. That's a shame! ”

“We were staying here because mum was in hospital nearby and we live four hours away. Staff were very friendly about last minute extension of our stay. Rooms are kept clean as long as you remember to put the little sign out, otherwise staff are very helpful if you need anything.”

“One night stay, room(plum porter) much bigger than photos , clean comfy and in keeping with the building. Staff very friendly, beer spot on food good. We didn't want breakfast as we were going for lunch, just. Suited us. Lovely little village, church peaceful, sound of the bells chiming, like going back in time. “As a place to stay it was okay. There was no restaurant as it is being renovated, luckily there was a good Indian restaurant virtually opposite. Parking is £3 per 24 hours unless included in your booking. Breakfast was okay but mainly carbs. Would I stay there again probably not”

“Despite the large rooms, the hotel is in dire need of a renovation. The beds are overdue to be replaced. Lots of piling on them and they didn’t have a fitted sheet. You could feel the bumps of the older mattress through the sheet that was on top of the bed. The sheet on top of the bed didn’t cover the entire mattress. It would roll up and expose the mattress in the night. I had to constantly get out of bed and pull it back over the bare worn mattress. Very poor lighting in the room and...
